Events
There are three events: Full Marathon (Japan Association of Athletics Federations-certified course), Half Marathon ( Japan Association of Athletics Federations-certified course), and 10km.Age categories are 18 years and older for the full marathon and 15 years and older for the half marathon and 10km.
Course Features
The starting point is Nogiwa Park、located in the western part of Aomori-shi, and the finishing point is Aomori Waterfront, next to Aomori Prefecture Tourism Center (ASPM).The course is mostly flat, but the “Aomori Bay Bridge,” with a height difference of 20 meters, is a unique and challenging feature of this course.The course as a whole is flat, making it a good choice for runners aiming for a good record.Also, the participants can enjoy a view of the majestic Mutsu Bay from the Aomori Bay Bridge.
Sightseeing spots in the area
The starting point, Nogiwa Park and ‘Gappo Park’ beyond the Aomori Bay Bridge are famous cherry blossom spots in Aomori City.As the marathon is held around the time when cherry blossoms bloom in Aomori City, enjoy the cherry blossoms while running.Additionally, the finish point, ‘Aoiumi Park,’ is located on the waterfront near Aomori Station. In the vicinity, you can experience the history and atmosphere of the Nebuta Festival year-round at ‘Nebuta no Ie Wa Rasse.’ Not only can you purchase unique souvenirs distinctive to Aomori, but you’ll also find ‘A-FACTORY,’ a collection of shops and restaurants dedicated to Aomori’s locally sourced ingredients, and the famous ‘Aomori gyo-sai Center‘ known for its fresh seafood rice bowls.

Regarding the Dispatch of Athlete Bibs, Runner’s Chips, and Event
Programs: Athlete bibs, runner’s chips, and programs will be sent to participants around April 8 (Monday).
In case the athlete bibs or related items do not arrive, please contact the secretariat by April 15 (Monday), and replacements will be issued at the comprehensive information center on the event day.(If there is no prior contact, reissuing may not be possible.)
※If there are changes to your address after registration, please inform the secretariat promptly.
※On the day of the event, please remember to bring your athlete bib and runner’s chip
※In case of loss or forgetting the athlete bib, a separate handling fee will be required for reissuing
※For those who will not participate on the day of the event, please return the runner’s chip using the enclosed return envelope.(If not returned, actual expenses may be charged)
Shuttle Bus Operation and Parking
The shuttle bus service will run between Aomori Station, Shin-Aomori Station, the temporary dedicated parking lot (Aomori Keirinjo), and the starting point, finishing point, Shin-Aomori Station, and the temporary dedicated parking lot (Aomori Keirinjo).
Please note that there is a limit to the number of spaces in the temporary dedicated parking lot, so please be aware of this in advance.
Starting point 【Nogiwa Park】
Located in the western part of Aomori City, this serene park is divided into five areas: ‘Children’s Land,’ ‘Picnic Square,’ ‘Waterside Strolling Garden,’ ‘Forest Strolling Garden,’ and ‘Hometown Forest.’ It features the beautiful Nojiwa Lake and lush greenery.Except for the Forest Strolling Garden, each area has well-maintained parking lots, and facilities such as toilets are available throughout the entire park.

Children’s Land’ offers playground equipment and facilities for children. Nojiwa Lake is adorned with four bridges—Nojiwa Strolling Bridge, Lake Top Bridge, Mikae-ri Bridge, and Kofuku Bridge—providing opportunities for enjoyable fishing around the lake.
Known as a cherry blossom destination, it serves as the venue for the ‘Aomori Spring Festival’ along with Gapu Park.
Gappo Park
The park representing the city of Aomori.Initiated in the 14th year of the Meiji era and completed in the 27th year.It covers an area of 17 hectares.Located to the east of the downtown area, accessed from National Route 4, Gapu Park’s northern side faces the coast and becomes a bustling beach area, attracting summer beachgoers.Additionally, known as a famous cherry blossom spot, Gapu Park becomes the venue for the ‘Aomori Spring Festival,’ attracting numerous cherry blossom viewers.The area around the ponds incorporates the style of a Japanese garden.It has been selected as one of the ‘Top 100 Urban Parks in Japan.
Aomori Bay Bridge
The bridge has a length of 1,219 meters, making it the longest bridge in Aomori City.It utilizes high-strength concrete in its main towers, and the shape of the letter ‘A,’ representing Aomori, is designed into various parts such as the bridge piers and cables.A challenging highlight of the Aomori Sakura Marathon is the Aomori Bay Bridge, which has an elevation difference of 20 meters.Enjoy the breathtaking views from the Aomori Bay Bridge overlooking Mutsu Bay.
Finishing point 【Aoi-umi Park】
Adjacent to Aomori Port, the expansive park known as ‘Aoumi Park‘.’Aoumi Park’ is a key part of the ‘Aomori Port Renaissance 21 Plan,’ a joint investigation conducted by Aomori Prefecture and the national government from 1986 to 1987 to revitalize Aomori Port.The developing Ankō Green Area was completed in the fiscal year 1991. Designed with a triangular shape inspired by Aomori Prefecture’s tourist and product pavilion, Aspam, it provides a refined waterfront space previously unseen in Aomori’s harbors.
